Mezze - Middle Eastern Foods
After our visit to Mezze, we did the standard journalistic thing of putting up photographs and a story describing what we ate, and telling everyone that we would be more than happy to walk on foot to Tramore to eat the Mezze breakfast pita: halloumi; scrambled eggs; fresh leaves; mashweya dip and harissa.
Dvir and Nicola, we wrote, are doing a mighty job.
The interesting thing, how ever, was the response to the review from readers. “A fabulous place”; “Cool people. Great food.”; “The absolute best people are Dvir and Nicola.” “We love Mezze and so do our kids.” “Delicious flatbreads.” “You deserve the amazing review”.
These were just a selection of the comments, and they reveal not just the respect food lovers have for what Nicola and Dvir are doing, but also the affection which has made Mezze such a Don’t Miss! destination in Tramore.
Cooking wonderful food, and running one of the best speciality shops, is just one part of the Mezze operation. Their own crackers and spice mixes are exceptionally fine, and are increasingly available in good shops throughout the country. But its is the ambience of Mezze, the informal welcome, the superb service, the soulful food that so suits the simple style of the room and the courtyard, that takes this modest café into a special place, in all our hearts. Everyone loves Mezze, because Mezze food shares the love.
