Azzurro Restaurant
Adriano Cavaliere and his team have created a classy, confident destination in Azzurro, on the Dock Road, in buzzy Dunmore East.
Upstairs, in a charming, elegant and well-appointed room that is very comfortable, there are darling sea views, and darling cooking that majors in the Italian classics: halibut and langoustines; linguini arrabiata; Azzurro bruschetta with Parma ham and Parmesan; half-a-dozen classic pizzas; monkfish scampi.
Their pizzas and pastas are inexpensive, and there are special deals at lunchtime, and good menus for children, so Azzurro is the sort of smart family restaurant that doesn’t dumb-down, and thereby gives everyone a better experience than they had hoped for. It’s very busy during holiday season in pretty Dunmore – in fact, it’s mad busy during holiday season, so make sure to book, or else get there early. There’s always a great crowd of locals and tourists, and a mighty buzz, especially downstairs in the chrmingly eclectic bar, and Mr Cavaliere and his enthusiastic and well-drilled team work super-hard to make everyone happy.
