Having your very own artisan bakery is now the crowning symbol of a town that is on its best food game.
So the opening of Dún Artisan Bakery on Main Street in Dungarvan, cements the town’s reputation as a Gold Star food town.
Dungarvan has great places to eat, superb craft brewers, great chippers, good shops, and good pubs. And now, with Dún Artisan Bakery, it has exactly the dedicated specialist bakery that makes everyone’s life better, and lifts property prices right across the board.
Cat, Fergal and their crew nail it everywhichway. The coffees and drinks are ace. The morning bakes would get Sleeping Beauty up and out of the sack. The sourdoughs are soulful, satisfying, and delicious. The sweet things are narcotic confections.
And the shop itself is a beaut: prop yourself at a window seat, with a flat white and a blackberry compote Danish, and things just couldn’t be better.
Waterford, the home of the Blaa, is now also home to some of the most creative artisan bakers in the country, and Dun bakery is one of the very best. These Waterford guys know their bread, and then some.
