Chris Molloy and his family team at The Lemon Tree have really found their focus over the last two years, ever since moving into a bright new room in the Courtyard Shopping Centre. The move allowed Chris to seize the reins of a Donegal-centred style of food that has seen him find his voice via the conduit of the superb band of artisans who supply Donegal’s best restaurants. So, your charred cauliflower is from Ballyholey farm; mussels are from Mulroy Bay; smoked salmon is from the excellent Haven Smokehouse; terrine of chicken leg is made with Noone’s Farm poultry. The result is an ingredient-led style that physically takes you on a culinary tour of the county, from sea salt to whiskey, from craft beer to Lisnamulligan beef. Do note that value for money for such creative food is exceptional.
