The 100 Best Restaurants in Ireland digital smart guide, was published yesterday at a photocall in Brother Hubbards in Dublin. Here we talk to Dónal Mulligan, who designed the digital guide, about what influenced his choices.
Publishing the McKennas' Guides is very much a team effort. We would be nowhere without our Editors, Eamon Barrett, William Barry, Caroline Byrne, Aoife Cox, Elizabeth Field, Caroline Hennessy, Joe McNamee and Leslie Williams.
We also have advisers, who this year included Eugene McSweeney, and in Dublin our team were joined by Mei Chin, Anthony O'Toole and Ernie Whalley. Thank you to all. We feel it is important to have a team of named specialists making a choice of who makes the final list.
For every establishment who joins the list, another leaves it. Often these are fantastic restaurants, but the list has to be dynamic and reflect the places that have simply had a great year, and who are just on top of their game at this moment in time.
We would like to thank Dónal, for designing us a wonderful App, and we look forward to a new partnership with Dublin City University to develop more smart guides. Coming up are Apps on the Wild Atlantic Way, the 100 Best Places to Stay in Ireland as well as city guides and county guides. It is an exciting time to be in publishing.
Finally, we would like to thank Conor Cahill and Sile Ginnane of Fluidedge, who have worked so hard with us on this website, and created Megabites, which is going from strength to strength. Thank you for subscribing. We have great stories and films, and look forward to sharing them with you.
