Quinlan & Cooke

Archive - all the best places to eat, shop and stay in Ireland. A local guide to local places.

It’s the County Kerry dream you were hoping to find: a boutique townhouse with gee-whizz style, with a slinky, Balearic-vibe seafood restaurant, with good wines. How cool is Quinlan & Cooke?!
Kate Cooke is one of those women blessed with a sureness of touch, and an artist’s eye. Both in QC’s Restaurant and in the Quinlan & Cooke Townhouse, her zest for colour, her ability to create energy in a room, and her classical sense of balance and proportion serve the customer well, both when it comes to finding the perfect seafood restaurant, and when it comes to finding the perfect place to stay on the Ring of Kerry.
The QC’s cooking is deftly delicious: deep-fried squid with harissa aioli; fish tacos with chipotle slaw; garlic prawns with gremolata; Marseille-style fish stew; smoked salmon gnocchi. There are fine dishes for carnivores, but it’s truly the fish specials you want to experience.
And then around the corner to The Townhouse, to the most stylish rooms you will find on the Ring. How cool is Quinlan & Cooke? Super cool.
