Pilgrim's
Mark Jennings lets the food do the talking at Pilgrims. So, it was quite a surprise to everyone that there he was, on the telly, featured in RTE’s Beyond The Menu series. Of course, Mark didn’t really talk too much about what he does, though he pointed out that what he wants to put on the plate is food that is “Pure, clean and full of vitality”. He does just that by working with local growers, foraging widely, and then utilising both his capacious imagination and his capacious technical skills to put some of the best food in West Cork in front of you. Who else makes nibbles with Crown prince squash, scamorza croquettes and tomatillo, or puts chocolate-chilli sauce with roasted turnip and brussels sprout tops. Pilgrims is a wild ride for food lovers, calmly overseen by the brilliant Sadie and her team in the dining room.
