Shortly after Eugene and Ronan Greaney’s Dough Bros was named one of the 50 Best Pizzerias in Europe, it was announced that Ireland had moved up the rankings to be declared the second best country in the world for quality of life. These two facts are not unrelated.

Ever since they first wheeled their pizza cart into a Galway Market and started mainlining happiness – along with extraordinary pizzas – the Greaney brothers have simply been improving the quality of everyone’s life. The good news in recent times, of course, has been the fact that where once you had to go to Galway and go to Dough Bros to get that perfect pizza, nowadays that perfect pizza can come to you, wherever you are. The Bros have elevated the art of making a Dough Bros pizza at home to new heights, their pizza kits beautifully considered and composed, and simple to execute. The Dough Bros happiness aureola is disseminating ever wider, bringing joy to the 40 green fields of Ireland. Eugene and Ronan should – with haste – be officially confirmed as Ministers for Happiness. No one deserves it more.
